Randy Blaukat pens memorable article

January 13, 2010 1 comment

If you are a hard-core fan of the sport like I am, you will recognize the name Randy Blaukat.  Randy was one of the anglers featured in the book Bass Wars, which followed rookie anglers on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail in 1986.  While dated, the book should be required reading for any angler who dreams of becoming a tournament pro.  Today Randy published an opinion piece on BassFan that summarizes his thoughts on the changes in the industry over the last 24 years.   It is refreshing to read a professional angler’s well though-out opinion straight from the horses mouth.  This is one of the better opinion pieces that I have ever read on BassFan.

Having said that, there is much said in his article that I disagree with.  Nevertheless, Randy still gets high marks from me for sharing his opinion in a thoughtful way. It will be interesting to see what lies in store for Randy and the overall sport in the future.
